Very clean setup. Nice. You may want to consider using shrimp soil next time. I used to use such gravel in my previous setup, but realised it has very sharp edges (which is magnified several times if you are the size of a shrimp) and may not be very good for shrimps. Besides shrimp soil is able to give a more favourable pH.

i wish i have a tank size like yours though. But i do not have the space for it. You may see my pictures here...

Very nice tank Joy-San

Wish i had the skills to set up such a neat tank too.

BTW, what is the plant in the left front corner and right back corner of the tank?

Thanks, bro! Why would you want my tank size? Mine is really small! Only 40cm x 19cm x 23cm. I used the black quartz mainly coz i liked the shimmery effect, especially with LED lights. Shrimp soil would give it too dull an effect.

Thanks for your nice comment! I didn't have much plants left surviving from the moving house. Would have preferred more moss. The plant in the left corner, I think, is of the Myriophyllum family. Which sub-species, I'm not too sure. I got it from Seaview. Cheap cheap, only $1.50. But I'm not sure if it's because of my tank condition previously, but it seems to be changing form. Was a lot more furry looking when I first got it. The plant on the right, I'm not too sure about. Looks like hornworts, and grows like it too! Am averaging about 2inches of growth every 3 days.

Lol! Yup. It's an old Eheim 2013, a leftover that my dad kept from his marine tank setup back in the 80s. Imagine the embarassment I had to go through when I was at Qian Hu trying to buy a replacement 'O' ring. The salesperson checked his catalogue, asked all his senior staff and finally came back with this answer, "Eheim doesn't carry such a model, you must be mistaken" . Decided not to buy the 'O' ring for the 2213, even though I suspect that it would fit the 2013. Came home, decided to give the canister the go-around test and amazingly, the 20+ year old rubber seal was found to be 100% serviceable. No leaks from any of the joints either. Impeller's in good working condition. Just as silent as my 2213. So hey, I'd be a nut not to use it! Truly built to last!

Personally I don't like moss ball. I would rather have a branchy bog wood with some moss tied to it.

Nice simple set up you have. I used to have somthing like that till I couldn't stop buying more cute stuff to put in the tank and it became messy along the way till I revamped my tank. Keep it up!
