Yea, it's better to post some pics for ease of ID of the fish, but IMHO it's highly unlikely to catch 2 jap perch in our reservoirs or long kang unless people release?

To have anyone release fish such as the Japanese or Nile perch is not impossible, but it would surely be very unlikely given their cost. Would call this one a kbl.

That's a KBL. A Japanese Perch would have some form of distinct patterning on its body. Yours look like its unstable. And it's skin color is certainly a KBL's color. My previous freshwater Barra was bronzish in color, so it could show similarities to the brown color that you mentioned. Hope this helps =)

at these sizes, its unlikely to be a jap perch. people buy them small and only release them when they get too big.
