Mine flaring often usually the same fishes. Two of three of them sometimes stay together but most of the time, its one orange oscar and one albino tiger that stays together and just flaring at each other but not fighting. Both sometimes do the occasional mouth cleaning on the rock.

My tiger and albino oscar breed b4 few yrs ago.. Most likely ur already find their mate and start showin symptoms of spawnin... If u have spare tank(at least 3x1.5x1.5), transfer e pair out.. Place inverted flower pot or slate in e breedin tank.. U start seein them more often and will breed once they settle dwn and comfortable wif e breedin tank.. Water parameter they r nt fussy but keep e water clean is needed... Hope ur oscar breed for u soon..

hi there

1. bro, bingo!
2. currently, i have 2 tanks of oscars; one tank of 5 adult oscars of 2 plus years & the other tank of 10 juveniles size: 2" to 5", all bagged this year.
3. yes, got to bear with the lip locking, head-butting & minor injuries.
4. one more thing: aiyoh! very heavy bioloading.
5. 20% wc once every 2 days!
6. hahahaha! i have always loved the oscars, my luck!

They can. Might lose some along the way though. Years ago I had 2 live quite happily together in a 4x2x2.

Currently, i've got 5 juveniles in a 6x2x2.5. Lost 1 a few weeks back. Got beat up over a long weekend when i was away. Currently sin-binning one in the sump for being a bully.

They're happy together as wee juveniles, then they tend to get more aggressive as they get a bit bigger. Then at sub-adult i find that in general they tend to tone down a bit. Lip locking and side banging but nothing too fatal.

There is mention (& i tend to agree), that tigers tend to be more aggressive that albino's. In general, wild oscars would be more aggressive than their tank bred brethren.

My 5 at the moment are 2 albinos (the largest 2 - palm size) and 3 wild oscars. The largest is about the same size as the albinos, then 1 smaller and another smaller.

My 2 albinos are super docile. My largest wild oscar is only interested about food. Pretty much doesn't give a rats ass about anyone else. The middle child of the 3 wild ones is the rascal. Keeps bullying the little one...so like i said, he's being punished by being in solitary confinement in the sump for a while. Will re-introduce him and monitor.

Having said all that, cichilds will be cichlids and your mileage may vary.

Still have not gotten confirm pair yet. After added in one tiger oscar, it became quite dominant and started to want to pair up with many females..hahaha...but cleaning rock sometimes.
