I won't say there isn't any Lao Tiger or China Tiger.

I would rather say chucks of the main population of the tigers are found mainly in the region of thailand.

Of course there will be some disperse population of the tigers along the whole stretch of Mekong river.

Also have to take into consideration of the numerous dams along the river

CT n VT to mi is e same, mostly with ST tail which explain many hobbyists cant really see e different n kinda mixed up between a real ST from chao phyara river n fake ST aka CT/VT from Mekong River.

Quote from a tiger expert,

Characteristics of Cambodian Tigers.

1) The entire bar, without the tapering going towards the stomach
2) The 2nd biggest bar, extends to the top and lower fins, and go along with the finages hardrays, forming like a "lyre tail pattern". Whereas a true ST the 2nd bar bends back and stops right before gg into the finages and looks like a "uniform French fries"
3) CTs are mostly FNFB while most STs are not and seems to have shorter bars/black markings
4) Tail of CT have thicker cylindrical band while ST forms a "V shape" or "broken".
5) Stability, I feel CTs may be less stable than ST(this I am not 100% sure). But so far, my sole ST is 24 by 7 stable, under all conditions.

Also to note: ST's base colors may not turn black, but I have seens in quite afew situations, ST's black bar loses it's black colors 90%

** Original STs from Chao Phayra are extinct in e wild.

Original STs are extinct in e wild which explain CT n VT come into pixs nowasday, using it as a replacement for real ST n sell at higher profit margain.

Fishes dun carry passports and dun recognize man-made borders la.
it's which river system they come from - Choa Phraya or Mekong for example.
