btw wanna ask, how long does a calvus take to mature, my 2 chaitika white i bought late last year has grown from 3 cm to 4 and 4.5 cm respectively... from what i've read, the female will stay small and male will continue to grow, so only when i notice that one stopped growing then i can see that it is a potential female? johannes

What you have mentioned is right, female will be much smaller as compared to male. I've experienced this from my fries too(the size differs a lot once the reach breeding stage) male can grow twice the size of the female but there will be an occasional stunted one or two piece out of the colony. |

8days after observation of my female Calvus White
I realized the male going close to the female's shell 8days ago shaking his body, so I suspected, observed, checked and put my hand near the shell just now and the female attacked me. With the things that I need already prepared near me(camera, portable air pump, my water scoop with water filled), I shook out about SIXTY over pieces of cute little tiny whiny babies

Well done! I've tried many attempts on breeding "Black Pectorals" but never succeed. You just do it once and double the happiness.
