"If you put clear packing tape about half way up the container they can not climb on it, the surface is too smooth. And the reason they can climb the side is because their tiny feet can find the imperfections of the glass or plastic. The larger crickets body weight is too much for their feet to hold on. You can use egg crates or papertowel rolls or even popsicle sticks. You can use dirt as substrate and stand the popsicle sticks in it. "
i think i will try this out haha. |

The other way you could get rid of the odour is to have proper ventilation of your setup as well as where it's been placed in your home. You might want to reconsider its placement. If it's lacking in ventilation, the odour will just linger on and stay around there. Perhaps you could post a picture of your setup (substrate/drainage used) and where it's at in your house. At least it'll be a visual aid to a much proper response to your query. My take on it is that if your setup has been done properly with good drainage etc, the odour shouldn't be there at all. It should be smelling like freshly dug earth. Regards, Phillipe Last edited by Wild Ginger; 03-08-2010 at 03:58 PM. |

Symptoms : Fungus on skin. Disease : Red Leg, Pseudomonas, Hydrophila. Treatment : Use the water area of a quarantine vivarium and add 0.6% SALT by volume. Make sure that the frog gets in the water often. Duration 6 weeks (refresh water often). Use a solution of 0.2% MERBROMIN (MERCUROCHROME)on areas of the frog with fungus, rinse after several minutes. Is your frog lethargic? not eating? sleep cycle mixed up? spending/sleeping in the water dish during the day too? and what makes you think yours kena redleg bro ? post a pic of your frog will help too =] btw i throw in 12 crickets in each night and let them have feeding frenzy. Left only 3-4 the next day. Last edited by 69efan69; 04-08-2010 at 03:52 PM. |
