Guppies thriving well under natural sunlight conditions,similar experience to share?

Plants are like free filter and water conditioner for the fishes, i did very little WC.

Most of the time, 1 of my neighbors did WC for me without asking.

The wild birds did not scoop up the fishes from sky.
Maybe they can't see properly or the guppies r too small for their meals

The mini puffers are not eating the tubifex worms in the new 1.5ft tank
that I picked up from my friend in Taman Jurong.

New Tank Syndrome or they sick?
They will swim out to the front if the worms air-drop but they dun touch.
Only the bettas and the gupppies are eating....

Puffers do not eat tubi as far as I know. They love eating snails.

i have a plastic tub bought from those provision shops, people use it to wash babies i use it to rear guppies... i put it in the sun out in the balcony with a small pot of amazon swords with ten males and 12 females(mixed from different LFSs) and also a few dead leaves to slightly lower ph and provide some shelter. thriving man.. kept them for 8 months now, every two months nid to collect fries

Agree, they are use to clean up tAnks of snails. Not sure if there any commercial food for them. My suspicion, should have, try asking lfs, like seaview they carry an assortment of puffers. They must be fed with something!

Puffers should not be mixed with guppies as they do bite if they are hungry. The guppies might get damaged by the puffers.

Hi Ethan , Aris,
You both are right, snails prefer eat snails.
The Seaview puffers are giant ones.
I think they can eat feeders.

C328 do carry mini snails S$2 for abt 80 pcs.
If puffers are hungry and no snails around, they will eat worms.
This time round, the puffers just blur blur stare at the other guppies eating the worms.
Maybe they still haven't know that the tubefix worms can be eaten.

I will try to get snails from C328, the new young male worker
told me this week should be coming.
Otherwise hv to go to Chinese Garden / Jur Lake to find.

Tha's a great n economic idea to rear guppies! The babies will be strong.
Won't the direct sunlight will it heat up the tub even with the plants around? No birds or foreign intruders to visit your balcony?

hi bro, in nature guppies would have to deal with such heat from the sun too, btw i placed the tub where the sunlight is not too strong, so i guess shouldnt affect the guppies too much luckily till now no one stole my guppies but i forgot there might be hungry birds....oops
