i use a small air tub to suck out the water and waste then use the tube to get water in. thats how i change the water.
thats just a little troublesome. imagine having to do it for like 20 bettas ?

i see Straits also change the betaa water by putting on their hand and they got a lot of tank to change but i think that it is worthwhile seeing the betta healthy growing up

A better way to change water is to pour out the water while the fish is inside. fish may be stressed ubt at least it will not get contaminated with fishwater from other fishes.

just take tank in one hand and pour water out, if swim head same direction as water flow and flowing out, on the tap slightly and the pressure of water will cause betta to head in the other direction. so when little water left, on tap again to dilute the waste water and pour out again. like that water is clean inside. Then pour in yr aged water.

all my betta are trained in this way from one month old so they know how to behave during water change. and i dun think i got any betta with torn fins or broken fins because of water change

with experience and some of the poor fellow falling into the basin you can suceed. i only once pour one down the drain when the lid was not there. heart pain.

sounds cruel and troublesome and cumbersome, but hey my hands remain dry after changin 50 or more tanks. and they dun share any container which can spread disease.

net is not good.

method is optimised thru changing water over a thousand times for few hundred bettas.

Eh....

Thought you guys said that tap water has chlorine and might cause the CT's rays to thin out and might cause it to weaken and droop??

Here's my method:
1. Wash my hands with soap first
2. Use one hand to get the fish into another clean container B with a bit of water from the old container A
3. Then after changing water and washing the old container A, i will pour in half tap water, half aged water. Add salt and anti chlorine and stir big-time.
4. Next I will pour the water and the betta from the other container B to container A. This time i do not have to use my hands.
5. Lastly, i wash my hands with soap again and clean the container B with sponge and soap. (i usually skip this step if the betta is extremely healthy)
6. Repeat steps 1-5 for all bettas again.
7. For sick bettas, i will change water for them last so that I do not need to touch them first for fear of infection to other bettas.

Anyway, kelvin, if use your method, i realised that i won't be able to scrub my original tank to clean off the algae and slimy substance at the bottom sometimes. So how do you rectify this?

you dun have to scrub at all. leave it as it is, or just use tissue paper. anyway you waste a lot of water this way, and try using your method when you have 100 fish to change in one night
