Hi morning, thks for follow up.
Always swim on surface still unable to dive yet, sometime resting at Horizontal position. Breath slower compare with previous. Slow but at least improved..... Will do some water change 2night to keep water in good condition. Bro Limmo & zhiz22, Heater already move away yesterday morning. Thks I use Genesis anti-chlorine(semi transparent bottle with yellow liquid). Should get back Genesis white bottle type(anti-chlorine & remove heavy metal If not wrong) Thks again |

Bros,
i thing u better don't change water tonight as it seen it is improving if u water can just perhap 10% or less. i have twice exp. my red turn pale n breath very heavy n surface on top of water but others fish is normal (tiger, SD) i clean up my filter wool only n add salt 1kg into 6x2x2 tank n leave it alone n never change water anymore for two week, first wrk back to normal but don't eat till the second week now ok lao. second is my green, she swim vertically n even not moving (vertically), do catch out n uses my red tank water n add salt (about 5 tea spoon into 2feet tank (green aro 10") n put two air stone. now is happily swiming. i don't know the problem, all other fish like ST, LH, XB, Pearl, wolf fish, SD all are ok. my trouble day. tks elvin |

Bro elvin,
Just intend to wc a bit only. Quite similiar to ur case, the angle fish tank mate no problem at all. Bro strut, I don think so. Situation is like this: Water change--Aro swim but not active--breath become more heavy--float & swim horizontal. |

How's the aro doing? Your problem could be a result of chlorine burn. Chlorines & chloramines can damage the gills & kill the fish. If your aro is still on its side but breathing, then you'll just have to give supportive treatment & wait for whatevery damage done during water change to get better.
You can add salt at 0.1-0.3% (Hope you didn't add 1% salt as mentioned earlier). Epsom salts can also be added at 0.1-0.3%. These two would help with osmoregulation. Don't put any heater in the water. You could lower the water level to half & minimise any current in the tank so as to relieve stress on the aro. You could add some activated carbon in your filter to further remove any other toxins that might still be in your tank to prevent further damage. Activated carbon should be removed in a few days or if you decide to add medication to the tank. Good luck. |
