What the cloudiness around the eye or on the eye is its actually a infection that has taken hold
It is believed to be bacterial in nature and is sometimes attributed to poor water quality. your fish may probably suffering from the exposure to ammonia and nitrite.Check your water parameters. Especially your nitrates. Makes sure your levels are where they need to. Examine your fish and their behavior. Remember, putting a healthy fish back in an unhealthy environment is not favorable. Eye infections can be difficult to treat, and sometimes take up to a month of treatment. Aquarium salt will help, as will frequent small water changes. I'd also reduce the feeding even more, getting the water quality handled is the best thing you can do for them right now it can take up to a month of antibiotic treatment to clear up a bacterial infection once it is established inside the eye - if the infection remains external, the best way to treat it is to treat the tank with Melafix it is a great product that should help clear up the infection. Just follow the instructions on the back and make sure to do the water change. Im sure you do but i will just remind you that it is very important to keep the water very clean so that infections dont happen to wounds Another alternative is Maracyn or Maracyn-Two. These are very good antibiotics used in the treatment of Body Fungus, Fin and Tail Rot, Gill Disease and Popeye. One tablet per 10 gallons of water every 24 hours Is she eating? - feeding antibiotic-soaked food would be more efficient than adding meds to the water Eye infections are difficult to treat. Hopefully it will clear it up. Good luck to you and your fishy |

Hi AroHaji,
i see that your aro has started to eat. that's good news as it shows that its on its way to recovery. i think it would be better if you let us know the amount and frequency of water change you do. also, if the scale rot has stoped and the scales are showing signs of healing.....you might want to stop using the medication and concentrate in improving the water condition for your aro. don't remove the medication by adding activated carbon. just slowly remove the amount of medication by partial water change. i'm sure as the water condition improves, the eye will heal. |

thanks bro.
i have done 20% WC everyday for 3 days from Sun(01/05). Then started on multicure on wednesday. Since on multicure, i have not done any WC. BTW, temp is at 29 degree. Activated Carbon, what's that? The edges where the scale rot turn black, it this a sign of healing? Yes, will like to improve on water mgmt. I have read from net that bio home is good. Any idea where i can get bio home? Quote:
