You definately missed it. I still see alot of them in a farm's tank for sale. Definately not japanese or paddle tail.

not an easy pet to keep. (at least for me) mine refused to eat anything, from live insects to frozen bloodworms. mine only managed to survive for 3 months.

I guess early selection of the healthy one in the tank is important. Always try to select those with a big stomach after a meal from the tank. Those are usually proven eating one. Avoid those skinny skinny one as told by the shop owner.

One thing about these newts is that they are been banned from selling in singapore. Still remember seeing them been sold in LFS or those market kinda LFS at much bigger size. More expensive though.

One thing about these creature is that once you own them, you cant resell openly in here nor anywhere. It will be best keep them till the end of time. One good thing about them is that they grow super slow and maintain is extremely low thus making it a good pet for people who are too busy to do lots of maintaince for their tank.

That is why i decided not to get from him.. LOL.. Rather source myself..

yes indeed, better to select the healthy ones. at that point of time, I wasn't sure how to gauge a big stomach though. my friend bought one at the same time as me, the size was much bigger and more active than mine. but his only lasted him 2 weeks. :X I guess he didn't have proper care.

all this talk makes my hand itchy. think i should go visit the LFS this coming week. by the way, how do you sex them? Edit: oh nevermind, read in the first post.

I guess most of the time many think they they aint fish thus didnt pay much attention on their water. They still need the water in their tank in order to be healthy.

Agree on this as well. Thus really got to check around. I usually will try to pick those more active one than those hidding or not so active one.
