my tank has been running for about 2 months already..Tis morning ph suddendly at 4.7 .. i did a 20% water change... now ph is 6.. i nv add coral chips before... dunno how to use it also

My LFS showed me before, they will sell a pack of coral chips. maybe u can wait to see if anyone advises u tat it's time to add. Good luck.

4.7 seems like very low. Have you calibrated your meter lately? Maybe good to confirm actual value before doing any drastic changes.

hmmm.. then i think theres is something wrong. usually cycling take about 1mth and everything stabalizes! you might wanna do a bigger water change. and moniter from here. usage of coral chip is very easy! just add direct to your tank! or add into your cannnister. but it will take sometime for the coral chips to take effect.

what soil are you using?

just tested the ph meter wif tap water 6.8

soil i using is BENIBACHI SHRIMP SOIL

Yah but do you know what your tap water ph should be? Need calibration liquid to get the correct readings.

might be becasue the soil is still new and the PH lowering effect is still very strong! might wanna do more water change to weaken the effect!

ok.. regarding the rain bar, enim 2213.. for 2 feet tank.. should i put in water and point at wall or put above water level?

er... i think just slightly out of water will be good enough! create more water surface agitation!
