Hope the Garment understand that there are always "cracks" in a stated policy.... when there are ppl falling thru these cracks...IT IS A WAKE-UP CALL FOR THEM TO REVIEW these policies!

there is no way a single policy that they satisfy all individuals.. just like some retired folks who has no income but staying in private with children.. they always feel that they are neglected cos they are not entitled for all the subsidy or goodies.. if give it to them, there will be others not happy as well.. where is the line?

First try to speak to MP telling your greviences and let them speak for you in parliament to change the rules. If not at least they can help you to write in the HDB, more powerful going through MP. My sis inlaw is a malaysian PR widow got through with the MP help buying a 3 room with her mother inlaw, forming a 'nucleus'. At first also got rejected flat because of some rules. Sometime is the rules that is fixed and HDB officer got to follow, they cannot waive and give exception as every people will have their own side of sorrowful story.
Rules has changed through the years, at first single cannot buy, later can buy when reach certain age, from 3 room to any others, now seems more and more lax. Now people are asking for more to buy direct with more grant instead of resale even they are not qualified. |

Have full story anot? Sell 4 room flat in open market but only get back 10K into cpf?
60k left in cpf cannot buy from open market? If below 35, then bopian rent first lor. Hdb rules for divorcees http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10321p....t?OpenDocument Divorcees Within three years from the date of the divorce, only one party in the divorce can own one of the following housing units: a flat bought directly from the HDB a DBSS flat / EC bought directly from a private developer a resale flat bought from open market under the CPF Housing Grant Scheme If you have an existing matrimonial home, which is one of the above, and that home is retained by your ex-spouse, you may apply to buy or be listed as an essential occupier in any of the above housing unit only three years after your date of divorce. However, this three-year wait out period will not apply if you are buying any of the above homes with your parents or a new spouse, or if you are buying a resale flat from the open market without the CPF Housing Grant. If there is no matrimonial home or the matrimonial home was bought from the open market without any CPF Housing Grant, you may apply for any of the above housing units after you get your ex-spouse's consent not to own or be listed as an essential occupier in any of the above housing units within the three-year period from the date of divorce. The requirement for ex-spouse's consent is waived if you are buying any of the above housing units with your parents or a new spouse or if you are buying a resale flat from the open market without the CPF Housing Grant. The requirement to seek ex-spouse's consent during the three-year period from the date of divorce is also waived if you meet the following conditions: All your children are below 18 years old at the date of divorce; and You have the legal custody of all your children and are also the only parent with the care and control of all your children. not to speculate.. if there's no proper rules and guidelines.. there will be people taking advantage by falsify separation (divorce) and gain access to 2 HDB..
