How many fries altogether?
If not much, easier to raise in a basin.

Remove most of the water (transfer to new container also) and start scooping
Fries easy to find food in small container, easy to maintain also..

Once you uses decapped BBS, you will never go back and hatch it the olden ways. Decap bbs is clean and less messy bcos the shell already burnt away and you just hatch them and sieve them out to feed the fries.

Please note normal brine shrimp eggs are protected by a hard shell and once they hatched, the shell will float to the top of the hatchery. In normal hatching circumstances, some bbs will not hatch so they are still in the shell and if you they are fed to fries, it can be damaging.

Below is a good website showing how to decap brine shrimp eggs....yes bleach is used and to counter the acidic bleach, vinegar is then used to neutralize the bleach...sound scary, but fear not...we hard cores have done it many times and so does other hobbyists playing betta, guppies etc.

You can also buy decapped brine shrimp eggs...just look in the AF buy/sell thread...sometimes some are offered for sale.

Hope this help.

Bro good website, thanks for sharing. 1 thing I don't understand why he wets the eggs first then use bleach. Why not direct pour the BBS powder into the bleach and air it for 2-10 mins..

Are you also decap BBS eggs using bleach? Is there any good brand of decapped BBS eggs? Any idea on the hatching rate for those off the shelf decapped BBS eggs? TIA.
