My cam cost me abt $1600+.. it's considered entry level.. But the features r quite gd already.. I think so lah.. Was struggling between canon n nikon.. But I heard nikon lens r cheaper.. So maybe more cost effective to get nikon body.. Gotta get a 2nd opinion from the seniors here..

Interesting that your 500D is stuck at 1/200 with flash. Did you enabled the flash sync in the Custom (C.Fn) function? I know there is a function when you enable it, the cam will always use the same speed (1/200). Disable it and you can shoot at other speed. At least that is available on my 40D. |

Eh.. why do you guys need to go such a high syn speed when shooting a fish ?
I think shooting a zebra danio also don't need to go beyond that speed. |

If you are referring to that small tank thingy, what Desmond meant is that typically you may get overly exposed subject even after you had lowered the flash output to the min. and f stop set at the highest no. so go super high speed syn may cut back alittle.

haha, sorry for making you scratch head richard. wat i mean is pics tend to be over exposed in smaller tanks. so i thought using a faster shutter speed can help to control the exposure.
anyways this is the link i was talking about; i thought it's really informative abt shutter speeds and flash at 03:11 of the vid.
