I am sure there will be people out there still harboring an axe to grind after the passing of LKY.
I am still waiting to read their post and youtube (not the Famous Amos one lah) but from someone who can back them up with facts. Hopefully those who are overseas in UK or US, will come out and record their experience and we normal folks can learn more from the good and bad of LKY policy. We can forgive but we cannot forget history, this is what I follow dearly in my heart. Btw, I don't read all the bull covered in SPH publication and CNA as well. Only see photos LOL. I was stationed in Genting Lane for a year in mid 90s, have seen enuff. |

Most of the world sees Singapore as a highly successful country that 50 years ago without natural resources, LKY transformed this tiny country from swamplands to one of the region's leading economies. Their views cannot be faulted as it is natural to look and see what Singapore is today, and not know or not keen to know how it all began. Just as we see the beauty and awesomeness of a gigantic tree's foliage, we tend not to look at it's roots.
This is a video of Charles T. Munger (right hand man and partner of Warren Buffet and a very wealthy businessman by his own right) praising Singapore and LKY.

It is against my interest to allow any family member, who’s incapable, to be holding an important job because that would be a disaster for Singapore and my legacy. That cannot be allowed." Note the part in bold. But hey, at that point of time LHL worked with GCT, and GCT was PM.. and there was no better person. |

wise words from a man Charlie Munger who has been there and done that, " study the lifework of LKY ..."
and from Henry Kissinger, " there's no better friend..." i believe if LKY had gone into the world of business instead of politics (yes, i'm well aware of the alternate view of Singapore Inc), he would be in the same league as Robert Quok, Li Ka Shing or even Warren Buffet. |
