" The new system will overcome the constraints of physical gantries, which are costly and take up land space"
Err...anyone knows how much of the valuable space the ERP gantries take up? Overhead also count as space? |

Ultimately, everyone will have to pay for any future increase in driving costs as all vehicles, commercial and private will be using the roads. Prices of goods and services will increase in tandem, taxi fares will increase and guess who will have to pay the additional amount?

So sad.
SG citizens are so quiet and meek like lambs. Led to the slaughter house. The gahmen don't even bother to discuss the privacy issue and whether we like to have such a system over our heads. Such a system can be easily misused or used to monitor certain targets. There should be a referendum or broad discussion on this. Indeed they had taken our support and vote for granted. |

In one hand, the government wants a stable political and conducive business environment, which its inhabitants find work and live safely. In other hand, it has to curtail the amount of freedom it willing to grant its inhabitants the right to privacy and free speech. The balance of how much control and command is a very delicate instrument that needs constant tweaking and calibration. Which only PAP can do here because we are such a small country. Uniquely Singapore, cannot copy else where one |
