Someone thrown in a fish when you're away? And this fish got wacked till so badly the scales are everywhere. Thus the fish is removed leaving the scales behind. Think you go and interrogate your son for the truth liao.

Happened to me before.
Have 4ft cabinet tank. Top of tank placed with glass covers (with small gaps in between) before the hood is put on top. 1 morning, found a many scales at the bottom of tank and aro was bleeding a little at some places where the scales were missing. Opened the hood to verify and there were many more on top of the glass covers. So this is what i deduced..... 1) aro jumped and landed on top of the glass cover (did not fall off cos of the hood) 2) as typical, aro must have "wriggled" desperately to get back to water *in the process - dropped many scales 3) Lucky for me and the aro, it manage to squeeze thru a gap and got back to water. the tiny little holes on the lateral line will enlarge and will also developed a hole which is exposed the on the side of the head. This is normally due to very bad water condtion for a very very long period of time as it is quite common for marine fishes. This disease don't happen over night. |

Just to add. For marine fishes the cure is almost zero.
But for aro, not sure but you aro will still survive. My advice is to get your water changed, maintain good water parameter. Even if it can be cure, i think it will take a damn long time. No offend. |
