Very thankful for Bros. here to share this information. But 1 qns pondering in my mind. Do we need insurance coverage for this single specimen shipment? What if fish DOA?

cmiiw, anything can be insured. only thing is if the premium for risk cover worthwhile.
general ins premium if i m not wrong is abt 3% of cover. livestock : i wonder how much is the premium, maybe 20% or 90%, anyone in general insurers? for CB or WC fishes, differing risks too. for us, premiums may be (relative to fish price) too expensive to justify buying insurance cover. anyway, some exporters do give replacements( in the next order shipment ) for DOAs.

My take is only deal with ppl who hv proven past track records.
If it's a one off sale by the other party, I will skip. If the seller has no other future deals to consider/upkeep his reputation, u better be careful.

Just got an email from mainland farm. they say depends on the size of the bag for the fish. the charges are normally 20-50 sgd. but there are cases of 70sgd(i think mature flowerhorns).
transhipper from the thai side aquabid is suau_fisher@hotmail.com singapore side is enquiries@mainlandfishfarm.com these 2 address i got from aquabid. not sure about other transhippers and their cost. Hope of some info |

OK, here's me doing my daily 100% WC last night of bagged fish during lengthy holiday :
bag then put in styrofoam box & covered by dirty laundry in the warmest part of hotel room.
