Use a wood burning tool to melt the holes in the bottles if you need smooth edges.
They are sold at hobby shops and department stores cheap. Try not to breath the fumes, I do it on the porch outside when I use it. It is much easier than drilling. The only time to worry about the edges is after molting by the young. |

For P. clarkii, slowly cool them down to 16 or 17 C. that's about low 60's F. keep them there a couple weeks seperated. After a couple weeks start putting them together. It may take a time or two but they will lock up.
I have had them lock up in a bucket while moving them to a small breeding tank. Good luck. Always watch them when putting them together for signs of damage. Also, be sure you have an adult male in breeding form. |

If I'm not wrong, for indonesian species, the breeding form would have softer gonopods and non-breeding form would have hard gonopods...
Went to touch them... I bought a male cray once right after it mated, didn't bother to take a look at the female though, then found out the above observation... Any books or information to refer would greatly be appreciated. |

WOw i never knew about the soft and hard gonopods..
lemme take a look at my male later LOL.. and the females.. how to tell? cuz they dun realli hav that thing sticking out..cuz it shud be just a hole rite? from this site that i jsu found.. http://www.ncwildlife.org/pg07_Wildl..._glossary.html heres a quote from them: form-I gonopod The reproductive structure of a reproductively active (breeding) male; terminal elements are usually sharp and sclerotized. form-II gonopod The reproductive structure of a male that is not in its reproduction phase; terminal elements are usually blunt/rounded and not sclerotized. hope this helps |
