Currently, lfs wise, NKS (near Kovan MRT) has the most tanganyikans (about 6~8 species? most juveniles) followed by QianHu (more adults fishes), etc. Hope it helps, all the best! |

Hey bro, from what I observed, Nigripinnis are docile and usually mind their own business. They form good upper tier / open water group for your tank. Due to the nice lyre tail they possess, they are well sought after by aggressive fishes.
I once com that piece with my more aggressive neolamprologus species in a 2 ft tank with his fin and tail nibbled by them. I have converted my open water to pure leptosomas now. Please stay tuned for further updates |

You have to be more specific which other African ciclids bro. Nigripinnis are very shy fishes and especially the juveniles ones are 'sardines' to the bigger tangs, so are young cyprichromis. Nigris tend to stay/swim at 45 degrees on the top to the highest slates/glass/etc.....if/when there are other more aggressive tangs around. Adult tangs with big mouths will eye nigri/cypris jeveniles always as they can swallow them whole easily. So, it's best if u buying juvenile nigris, the rest of yr tangs should be juveniles as well. If/when yr nigris reaches 4~5 inches, then they would be able to take care of themselves better. Avoid predatory tangs. Good companionship for nigris could be most of the lamprologus/neolamprologus/julichromis/shellies but avoid the 'big mouths' one and hopefully start all species on same juveniles ones. IMO, cheers!
