I would agree that it is not worth fighting when the odds are stacked against it. There's very little to fight for. I'm sure the PAP had it well plotted when they decided to go with this supposing Reserved for Malay (in the camo of RELIGION) PE.

But I also feel that having a vocal or daring Opposition is important. So far other than JBJ, who else had dared to speak up, faced with jail or bankruptcy? What has Dr Chee or JBJ have to gain from all these? These 2 individuals had promising future/life yet they forsake it all, for the love of the country. The unsung hero of our politics. People only remembers the victor, but not the loser.

Previously there was also no by-election needed even for a vacated SMC but being make a case law with the Hougang SMC that the constitution need the PM to call a by-election unless a general election is going to be held in the near future. Someone change it in the court. I think if someone like SDP can try the same for GRC, we should support.

Unlikely WP will win the case as running the GRC is complicated with the "red" tape that only those set it will be familiar giving this is the first time for WP to run a bigger setting. Any matters miss out will be hard to recover and kana sue until pants drop.
