One thing I am for sure is always have free trade competition in this market, only then we would be able to get nice and reasonable price fish.
I agreed. There is no fixed price for a fish in every ppl context.

If u wana cheap and good fish, u cant find in sg lah...seriously. Thus it is all up to each individual hobbisyist. You may be that kind of hobbyists who will wait for lelong sale then go buy....no prob at all. But u can juz say other hobbyists who spend hundred or thousand of dollars to buy the fish. Thus I feel that u need to phase your sentence carefully as I feel that there would be ppl who will feel offended by what you say.
Let's not comment about prices. As one bro rightly pointed out, its ready buyer, ready seller market.

That's why its always good to move around a few LFSes, but at the end of the day, you are the one making a choice based on your preference and knowledge, and budget.

To add on, if you think the price is too ex then don't buy. Nobody force buy. It is very difficult to measure quality with the price, just like we cannot explain why TVR is much more expensive then SVR and some low end fishes. It is all driven by the supply and demand of market, if no demand, certainly the price will drop or can't even survive. Commercially, every LFS or vendors have their own marketing strategy, having taken into consideration their write-off due to casulty and unsold. Some can take the hit and some having the price mark-up. There is no price control when comes to this. So just buy within your means and satisfaction and no point complaining that certain shop is out to chop people.
For us as hobbyist, what we should see is having maximum exposure to all the fishes locally. Only through having several LFS or traders competing for business then we would get nice fish at competitive price.

Bros please allow me to say a few words as a newbie in GF keeping.

GFs got no "hang cheng" one, can be from a few bucks to a few thousand bucks. So end of the day, buy what you deemed suitable and don't kpkb about the price. There's no end to it one.

It's always the supply and demand, willing buyer willing seller thingy. Initially, I thought it was crazy to buy a GF for more then a thousand dollars but after sometime, as the poison goes deeper into your blood, you will find it's worth every cent you've paid(Eh.......so far I still haven't bought one yet lah, but my good buddy did so lor)

One man's meat is another's poison, so just enjoy whatever GFs that you have lah. Life is already very stressful liao so let's move on man!

Bro, just ask why you are more interested in TVR than SV? As for me, I wanna see the whole of gf not just top nia, so I am more interested in SV.
