Good to hear that your aros are better. AC does remove chlorine, chloramine, bromine, fluorine etc. You can pre-filter it either by trickling water thru a bag of AC or putting AC in your age water tank & bubbling an airstone thru the AC. AC should be changed regularly. Probably every 2-4 weeks, depending on what you use it for. Personally, I feel that bubbling airstone thru AC for about 24 hrs should be enough. I usually add genesis as well. AC shouldn't be place in filter media of main tank, as it is then usually forgotten. Not mention that it might also absorb other trace elements. So AC should only be in the main tank for a reason, eg. absorb medication after the treatment period, or to remove excessive ammonia due to new tank syndrome. |

if Ac removes all the substances, wouldnt it be harmful to add anti chlorine/amine after that, since it will have nothing to break down and stay in the water? harmful to the fish?? |
