For Hydra stream to be priced much higher is because there are 8 cata pure cartridges as compare to Hydra 50 which only have 2 cartridges. The concept of hydra stream is the same as Hydra internal filter and there is also 2 pieces of plate. To change the cata pure cartridges, simply remove the cover of hydra stream and the cartridges can easily be taken out. |

Hi,
I'm using the hydra 30 for my 3ft tank. Currently dosing some coppersafe medication. Got a few questions on the correct usage of hydra under these circumstances. 1) Is there a need to remove the catapure cartridge? As mentioned in the faq it is not carbon but carbon base material... able to reveal what is the actual compound? 2) Is it safe to run the hydra after removing the catapure cartridge? 3) Do I have to remove the whole unit from my tank if tank is under medication? Since the catapure will affect the effects of medication... Pointless to leave the filter in the tank if it is not running right? Please advice my queries. Thanks |

1) Yes, although cata pure is carbon, it is not activated carbon and sorry that we are unable to disclose what compound it is make of. 2) Yes, it is totally safe to run hydra without the catapure. 3) You may remove only the cata pure cartridge or the whole unit of hydra out of your tank when you are doing medication treatment. As is it pointless to leave it in the fish tank, i shall not comment much here as you may still want to use it as a temporary circulation pump without the cata pure in it. |

Hi Qian Hu
I have some space issue in my main tank. I wonder if hydra 30 is able to function well mounted vertical on my sump compartment floor instead on the wall. I was thinking of purchasing one soon. Thank you. |
