Hi,

I feel that it is better to buy better brand like daeil(Korea) compare to Resun(China). Because if you intend to be in this hobby in the long run, reliability and energy efficient will affect your pocket. Let's take a 1/4hp chiller to compare, namely DBC-200(Daeil) & CL650(Resun).

1/4hp_______________ Resun______Daeil
Price _______________ard$400 __ard$1250(extra $850)
Power consume_______ 650W ______200W
PUB cost/mth 24/7____$79.60______$24.50
at $0.17/KW
1yr running cost_____ $79.60x12______$24.50x12
___________________=$955.20______=$294(saving $661)
additional 3 more mth breakeven
with resun model.

2 yrs running cost______$2310.4 ______$1838(saving $472)
w/chiller investment

If you were to calculate 3rd -5yr cost. Resun will burn a bigger hole in your pocket. It's always cheaper to buy resun or other china brand, but ultimately choice is yours. It greatly depend on whether you calculate on the monthly running cost or not?

I dun think resun chiller can last that long. 2yrs abt there. Theres nothing cheap & good in this world. So dun expect Resun to be as good/durable than Daeil/Artica.

Artica is an OEM of daeil... both high quality chillers. They are using superior chilling technology as well so they will both run lesser than other brands who are using inferior technology...

Daeil & Arctica is made from the same Korean Company. However, both are using different compessor. Infact, arctica uses different compessor for different market, example US & Europe.

Both look the same, but performance wise, no one actually tested both.

Cheers!

some hav tested tat a resun 650 is rated oni at 300+ watts n some say it was under-rated, tat means it is actually more than a 1/4HP.

thou i hav never use a daeil b4, i would suggest pacific coo.

reason: at $1200, u can get a 1/2 hp, n the after sales service u recieve is important. if i'm not wrong, if the chiller breaks down, they will provide u wif a temporary chiller while they get ur defective chiller repair. moreover, they will come 2 ur place 2 service ur chiller.
