Not been eating for 9 days

Can't view the vid..
Few things to check: - Check water - any form of aggression from other fishes - what's the diet before u bag it home Lastly, did u acclimatise the Ray before releasing to your tank? |

Hi bro, whats the diet of the rays prior to your purchase? Did the owner demo any feeding?

ray looks very active. It could be change of diet. previous owner feed feeder? and you feed others?

if not active until after WC i'll say it points to the water parameters being unsuitable or different from previous owner's and they werent acclimitised properly.
did u measure ur ammonia/nitrites/ph yet? |

Hi, looks like you added Black water or some kind of water conditioner like peat moss or ketapang leaves? I don't think that's necessary.
I feel that BW or its equivalents has the tendency to bring down the Ph of the water, apart from adding humic acids to the water, I think your PH is gonna head towards 6 or below with the filter working and breaking down the waste. Rays favour Ph7 or very near 7. I too notice my younger rays having decreasing appetites with lower Ph. After readjusting the water back to near 7, their appetites gradually get back to normal after a few days of stability at the right Ph. Hope this helps? Maybe you can update us with some perimeters before we can comment further? |
