Default Salinity fluctuate during Hyposalinity period

Have been observing that the SG do fluctuate. I maintain at 1.009 and sometimes it goes up. What causes all this fluctuation???

The only thing i did was topping up with fresh water and Seachem reef buffer and builder to prevent PH crash.

By adding freshwater, it is normal that you observe fluctuations in salinity and likewise temperature also affects fluctuations in salinity.

Are u running chiller or fan?
If you using fan then likely is due to evaporation

water temperature and water volume will affect the salinity.

The more evaporation, the higher the SG.
