Default Tropica 1-2 Grow!

The first product from Tropica we would like to introduce is their 1-2 Grow! plants.

Most hobbyist will probably be familiar with this product by now & have good success & experience using this range of plants in their aquascapes.

All Tropica's plants are labeled with their patented Easy, Medium & Advanced symbols. This is to make sure that you select the exact right plants for your individual aquarium.

So what is 1-2 Grow! plants?

1-2-Grow! Small plants with great success. 1-2 Grow! Are very young plants cultivated and delivered directly from our laboratory. The plants are guaranteed to be free from snails, algae and pesticides and therefore are totally harmless for sensitive shrimp and fish. The range offers unique plants!

Success with your aquarium depends largely on the proper plant choice. In a 1-2 Grow! cup you buy a myriad of plants which can be divided into small portions and cover a larger area. Plants are compact from the start so you will experience a dense and beautiful growth, if you give them the right fertilser and CO2 from the start! The range is perfect for small and medium sized aquariums, and your patience will be rewarded...

The range offers 3 mosses and specialties such as Rotala macrandra, Rotala 'Bonsai' and mini versions of traditional varieties such as Alternanthera and Eleocharis.

How do I plant with 1-2 Grow!?

Default Tropica Fertiliser

Tropica Premium Fertiliser

  • Contains iron, manganese and vital micro nutrients
  • Does not contain nitrogen and phosphor
  • Suitable for aquariums with few or slow-growing plants and many fish

Premium Fertiliser is added each week when changing the water. A flask is used to ensure an accurate dosage. The fertilizer is forced up into the fertilizer chamber by a single press on the flask. We recommend 5 mL per 50 L water per week, but recommend that this is set in accordance with plant requirements. For example, light leaves often indicate lack of nutrition, but can also be due to poor growth. Echinodorus bleheri is a typical example of lack of micro-nutrients. Regular dosing with Premium Fertiliser can restore green and luxuriant leaves. Note, however, that Premium Fertiliser is a fertilizer and not a medicine for dying plants.

It is recommended that minimum 25 % of the aquarium water is changed every second week. If undesirable algae growth does occur, then we recommend increasing water change frequency (up to 50%) and planting additional rapid growth waterplants such as Hygrophila, Vallisneira and Egeria.

Tropica Specialised Fertiliser

  • Contains nitrogen and phosphor for fast-growing and demanding plants
  • Also contains iron, manganese and vital micro nutrients
  • Suitable for aquariums with many and fast-growing plants

Specialised Fertiliser is added each week when the water is changed. We recommend 5 mL per 50 L water. However, we recommended that this is set in accordance with plant requirements. Specialised Fertiliser contains, in addition to micro-nutrients, all essential macro-nutrients. The fertilizer is particularly suitable where plants display a lack of nutrition. However note that if algae growth starts, Specialised Fertilser will promote this growth.

Specialised Fertiliser contains nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P). Dosage must therefore be adapted to plant absorption rates, to avoid undesirable algae growth. Where signs of algae growth develop, reduce the dosage by 50% and increase water changing frequency by 50 %. Changing the water not only reduces the concentration of nutrients in the water, but also removes algae spores, remnants and other accumulated elements from the aquarium water.

Tropica Aquarium Soil

• Aquarium Soil is a complete bottom layer, which can be used without any other types of bottom layer
• The grain size of 2-3 mm makes it easy for planting
• Aquarium Soil ensures proper growth and stimulates red colours

How to use the product

Aquarium Soil ensures good and active growth from the beginning, and boosts the red plant shades.

It is a complete substrate, which can be used without any other types of bottom layer.

Aquarium Soil is further an active bottom layer that lowers the pH value and slightly affects the water chemistry.
We recommend that you change the water min. twice a week during the first 4 weeks after establishing the aquarium.

Tropica aquarium soil & soil powder is available in 3L & 9L pack.

Default Tropica Nutrition Capsules

Tropica Nutrition Capsules

• Nutrition Capsules contain both nitrogen, phosphor, iron and micro nutrients.
• The nutrients are slowly released as the plants need them.
• Use Nutrition Capsules for stem plants, Cryptocoryne, Echinodorus, Vallisneria etc. – all plants with sturdy roots.

How to use the product

Nitrogen, phosphor, iron and manganese, as well as all vital micro nutrients are released by the capsules over a period of 1-2 months. Place the capsules close to the roots of large solitary plants and plants with sturdy roots.

The capsules do not fully decompose and the small balls inside the capsules will remain in the substrate after all nutrients have been released. The balls are made of resin, which is biologically harmless.

Tropica 3-in-1 CO2 Diffuser

• Bubble counter, reflux valve and ceramic diffuser in one.

• Customized ceramic disc, ensuring the efficient creation of micro bubbles.

• Increases the CO2 utilization as opposed to a regular air stone.

How to use the product

Tropica’s CO2 diffuser contains a bubble counter, reflux valve and diffuser in just one unit. The bubble counter enables easy and accurate CO2 dosage, since it is easy to count the big bubbles inside the chamber during adjustment. A reflux valve prevents the aquarium water from being sucked backwards, which is possible when the bottle gets empty, or in case you use a magnet valve to turn off the CO2 supply during the night.

TIP: in order to ensure perfect adherence to the glass, make sure that the glass is clean and grease-free; apply an ultra-thin layer of Vaseline on the suction pads to ensure adherence.
