Default Aro ID please

Saw these 2 in aquarium look like classic rtg but it wasn't labled. Also there were only the 2 of them one was about 22" the other Id say 27" or so. They seemed to be getting along but smaller one did have some torn fins

Look like RTG to me. X-back should at least reach the 5th level at that size.

yes, they are Asian Arowanas.

RTG, HB, MG or TY (or maybe XB), nobody can be sure. Unless you do DNA tests.

I've received feedback on this statement.

Thank you for the feedback.

My point is, many of us can't tell for sure the lineage of these arowanas, except for the obvious fact that they are Asian arowanas.

They do look like RTG, but I don't think they're the popular "classic RTG". The body shape isn't right. There's slight hint of HB on the scales. There's also chance that they contain red, banjar or green blood. The photo only showed front half of the fishes, the pearlies, the dorsal, anal and tail fins were not shown.

Sorry, based on visuals, I can't be sure. DNA tests, not many has the luxury to do. So, my best answer is Asian arowana that looked like RTG.

Thanks guys. Didn't want to stir up trouble just asking because I thought Classic rtg had a darker back. Anyway I was impressed because they weren't trying to kill each other and seemed peaceful even though there was only two in a large space
