Snow white skin... Aoki Sanke 18cm

Yesterday at Nippon, I chanced upon this Sanke while looking for a baby kohaku. I was so captivated by the snow white skin and the ink black sumi that I buay tahan, had to tapao, never mind the pattern looks bare due to small Hi spots. In fact, the shiroji is so white that I actually enjoy the white parts!

What time were you there??? I couldn't find you when I was there around 1pm+. Went there to look for a replacement for my Maruyama showa as it decide to jump out of the tank to catch a flight back to Japan. However, after searching around, got a shiro instead.

I'm keeping a couple of kois and a couple of GFs at home.

Nice white skin and black patches. As you said, it really lack hi, but I believe this piece will grow up to have very nice white all over the body including the head.

Did you chance on the champ tancho sanke? It has very nice white skin too.

Really, really like this sanke... looks very neat and pure. these few months opened my eyes and finally know what i like. i seriously dont think it is lacking in Hi, think it boils down to individual taste.

i.e. i find my sanke a little to messy, too much Hi, though it is growing like crazy currently at 22cm. was at Nippon yesterday till 7pm, also looking for a kohaku....

This piece shiroji is reali very white!!When i saw it 1st thg capture my eyes is the super white shiroji!!!the sumi is oso atarashi kind of sumi!!!Good catch brother...

thanks bro! I was there on Sat afternoon 3pm-6pm. Sorry to hear of yr showa, must have "blocked" a disaster for u. Some pple believe this.

Thanks bro, i am very tolerant to imperfections in pattern, I appreciate koi for specific qualities while accepting whatever else is lacking. Unless I pay top dollar, then i will be very "neow". Didnt see the tancho sanke u refering to.

Wow so fast gone liao har... Quite true, must be "neow" if paying top dollar for a top koi. If not, certain qualities can be overlook if the price is affordable. Although I pick on certain aspect when come to koi selection here, it is for learning purpose for others. I am also tolerant to imperfection in certain ways if I am not pay top dollar.

It is very difficult to find top koi at cheap price and most show quality are in japan or other locations where it can fetch higher price.

BTW Ah Seng seem to have top up his cheap koi sale area already. Got a pond of nice chagoi and kohaku to choose from. Happy koi hunting to all.
