Do they need cold waters to do well?

A cooler temp (below 27 C) is the guideline in most write out.

The pair that I have is kept under normal room temperature, but no direct sunlight, temp ave 29 C.

They are feeding well on NLS thera pellets.
However, the color is not as fantastic as what you see in most journal.

They color up better in darker background.

Have not, but they have been kept together since I got them, and with neon and amber tetra as well.

This is a non-annual. The eggs will hatch in water after 1 week plus.
