Default Problematic Arowana

Hi guys, I have a RTG. He's been fine all the while until one day. After a large WC, he begin to dash around whenever people get near to the tank, and refused to eat.

Its been a week plus since he last ate.

I'm worried for him as he is only around 8 inch. Any idea how to get him back to eat? Water parameters are the same as before he stopped eating, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 7.0 pH.

bro, on tank light 24/7 to calm down the "spooked" rtg.

it will come around on its own term and begin to feed again

had you add a water conditioner for the wc or what

I think your arowana was spooked during the water change.
leave a dim light on near the tank.
let the fish slower regain its confidence on the surrounding.

remove any un-eaten food to avoid spoiling the water.

I only add in Safe and 0.1% salt each WC. Thanks for ur recommendation. Will try the lights off.

Thanks! I do remove the food if un-eaten. Hopefully he starts eating again.

Aro 'recognize' owner. So if possible only you tend to the fish at the moment till he gains back the confident. Approach slowly and don't shock him. Try asking your family member to not disturb the fish at the moment.

I had the same problem before as your aro. Same it go dashing around the tank when someone near the tank.
It do not want to eat for almost a month. I will just shut sit nearby the tank let it get use to me for almost an hour every day.
Try to go near only when it see you and not from behind so it won't be spook. Now my aro and me are bonded. My hand go into the tank it will just come nearby looking.

Thanks for the tips! Nice to hear that your aro has bonded with you. I shall wait patiently for that to come true.
