I do keep Kois in a 5x3x2 fgt. I stay in HDB. The kois will grow slower but do note that the Bio load for Kois is really very high. Frequent maintenance is required. Currently I have 9 kois ranging from 20 to 60cm size.

Can be done just more effort.

There are ways to keep koi without a lot of painful maintenance. Just more regular short maintenances of maybe 5 min every few days to clear filtered out crap.

I will put up a schema of my quarantine tank plan later.

If u reduce the number of kois to 2 or 3, there shouldn't be a problem with overcrowding.
