Fronts!
Managed to take some pics of the newly acquired Zaires, thanks ben!
initially, i placed them all in a 622, but realised it was rather crowded, especially with the tankmates(shown below....hehe) split them up into a 4x2x2.5 and the 6x2x2. i do notice slightly more aggression, but i think it is better than having all of them clustered in one tank. They are really mellow most of the time, almost somewhat boring, but their beauty and poise keeps them in check with their other unique neighbours in the lake. haha...hope these help,
yea, the mbu is with the fronts. initially they squabbled during feeding time, as the mbu really doesn like anyone eating his prawns, haha... there were some thorn fins too, i think the puffer nibbles on them sometimes, but now he more or less ignores the fronts... well, i heard that mbus could be kept together, so decided to give it a try, can save tank space for other tangs too, haha.. most puffers are quite agressive, the mbu is suppose to be better in temperament, initially there were torn fins and biting, but now there doesn seem to be much interaction, so should be okay...

Mbu has a much better temperament, as Bro TaNgS_RuLes said, I kept them, and also Fahaka. Fahaka attacks anything that moves....mbu just leave others alone. The one I got is similar to yours, bright yellow with distinct black stripes. There used to be a huge mbu at CF, it is a giant fish when full grown.
Haha, you said Gibbs boring, many Gibbs lovers will disagree....but they are quite slow moving it's a fact. We still love them, nevertheless! |
