What is the difference btw T5 and T4 lights?

T4 tubes is thinner than T5 tubes, and the thinner the tubes, the brighter the lights would be. But nowadays T5 is more popular than T4, and there are all kinds of stuff like high output T5s etc...., but I'm not sure whether there is any in T4. Go for HO T5, its good enough for a reef tank.

i believe T4 is for fresh water plant tanks right? not sure a LFS owner told me once. anyway go for T5.. T4 will only allow u simple corals.

T5 tubes cost about $18 - $24
Hope this helps. T4 tubes dont really have a much selection of kelvin rating for marine. Ming |
