Default Danio or Tetra with GF

Anyone keeping a small school of danios (zebra fish) or tetras with their GF?
Some had suggested danios or tetras will help consume the microscopic parasites and their larvae in the tank. Anyone with such experience to share the pros and cons of having a small school of community fish in the tank?

This is my own experience ..

guppy (rainbow fish) - doesn't disturb the gf much, but they love to wonder around the surface and hence most of them drop dead into my sump tank overflow inlet.

neon tetra - too small to put inside the gf tank, all ended up in gf stomach..

Swordtail Platy - the initial few weeks they are totally friendly.. but it gets into biting the tails and body of the gf after that..

barb (tiger barb) - rather suprisingly this is the most friendly fish in my gf tank.. has been introduced as test/feeder fish during the new tank setup and has been in the tank till now for about 9 months, never ever disturb the gf once..

that's all I have tried to mix in my gf tank so far...

I think the optimal water condition for these 2 types of fish are not the same so either way you will be compromising. Neon tetra should be rather peaceful if they are in a big group but won't know when they decided to target your prized gf so as much as there's pro..i wouldn't want to risk..

When the danios or tetras are stable, there's a high tendency they will nibble on the GF's fins and tail.

For me I keep RED EYE TETRA.
I have kept both Normal and Ballon type, all no issues. But no tiger barbs please.

Never once did they snip on my Goldfish. Another good thing about RED EYE is they strives well in high PH water, suitable for GF tank.
