Yellow Tang Feeding Problem
Hi all,
recently i observed my yellow tang and saw that it had a sunken in stomach. Previously was a very fat yellow tang. Until today, i had seen that when i feed seaweed to it, whatever it eats seems to come out from its' gills. It has not shown any other signs of discomfort or disease, and is still feeding readily and hungrily as with my other tangs. Any bros can help me identify wheter the tang is down with any problems? |

Is the seaweed very very fine pieces? It could be the food is too fine(which i highly doubt so) or there maybe some problem affecting the gill rakers which prevent food from leaving the fish through the gill plates.
When did this problem occur? How long has the fish been with you?

It not a good sign to see a fish with a sunken stomach , do keep a look out for the fish.

This is strange that food come out from the gills , try to offer a wider variety of food to it then c what's the outcome. This fish would appear to have cave in stomach even without food for just 1 day.

Yup, my blue tang also have this similar problem. It'e been with me for more than a year. It died last week. Recently I try to reduce feeding, i feed them two day once, and this problem arises. Is it true that we have to feed tangs daily? Do bros here feed them more than once per day?
