What should be the recommended flow pattern in a biological filter? Fast, turbulent flow or slow, laminar flow? Why?

Is dissolved oxygen important in a biological filter? What is the recommended DO concentration for a biological filter? How should I meet the recommended DO level?

Does the biological filter perform better at a low or high pH?

is there a need to add any additives to tap water which has already been treated with anti-chloromine?

and do such additives necessarily contain the necessary trace elements/vitamins required by the fishes for good fish health?

Heard that fluoride does kill off microorganisms and our tap water systems do contain fluoride, will it have any effects on our bbs or even to our lifestocks?

As based on PUB site the Fluoride content is ard 0.4 – 0.6 .

Wish to learn about biological media(CR/HB and Bio-Homme)...
Life span
1) Need to change after certain period of time? When and how frequent?
2) Need to wash with tank water? When and how frequent?
3) No life-span and dont touch the media? (e.g: OHF or Sump tank)
