Is soil a must for shrimps?
Hi just to ask, is soil a must for shrimps? can i use those small tiny stones?

I don't think it is a must. My tank currently have sand/stones but for enhancing their colour and having good greenary around them. I think it will be good to have them.

Yeah. plants are a must as they reduce the.. the.. Nitrate or nitrite. either one, which is produced by the shrimps' waste. Correct me if im wrong.

Not necessary but some soil like ADA Aquasoil Amazonia/Africana, GEX Soil, Magic soil, has feature to bring PH 6 to 7 which suitable for shrimp keeping.

Not necessary to have soil but must have plants to provide hiding place and oxygen for the shrimps and shrimplet,

In my opinion.... appropriate selected soil offers:
- ph adjustment - provides nutrients not limited to root plants - trap & decompose waste for bacteria and micro organism - hiding place for shrimplets - during FAMINE, becomes an ultimate food source for shrimps... and many more advantages |
