sorry to say your oranda hard to save liao, only way is that maybe you can salt dip your goldfish or buy those swim bladder medicine but i think chances of survival is very slim. last time i got 6 oranda but now last with only two as 4 of them contract swim bladder n die

well....the most important thing to stop the occurance of swim bladder disease is to control your feeding and keep water really prestine.
over feeding which causes indigestion will lead to siwm bladder disease... for me...i feed them only once every 2 days..this method works for me... |

Please dun give up.
1) we must at least try because they still wanna live. 2) If we cannot save it, it means we still have much to learn. 3) If we give up now, i tink we better give up fishkeeping, get a tamagotchi. goldfish swim bladder disorder is mostly caused by too deep and too big tank. place them in smaller, shallower, clean water, well aerated tank. overfeeding might be a cause too. eliminate all possible cause, provide them with a suitable environment. Separation is a must, observe them for other symptons... prevent bacteria attacks so that chances for them to survive is higher. hopefully they survive. |

1) no food for the goldie for 3 days.
2) then feed it with boil peas for another 3 days. 3) if still cant helps, feed it with flakes food coated with castor oil. |

thanks for all your help
I tried put the goldfish in a different tank with salt and increase temp, but as soon as I moved, belly up and die should I move the rest? The tank is the tall type, so I think you're right about the cause |

never never get tall tanks for goldfish...tall tanks got the problem of insufficient dissolve oxygen in the tank water due to small water surface area.
goldfishes benefit from shallower and long tanks.... |

Dun know y when u move the fishes to another tank for medication/qurantine they always die away. So i usually treat them in the same tank. Though the pros probadly would disagree.
