SE & DE MH bulbs

Hi guys, anyone can advise on what's the difference between single ended & double ended mh bulbs? Which is better?

Single ended bulbs got 1 electrical end and double ended have 2 electrical ends.

SE bulbs have a built in UV shield and is more widely supported in terms of wattage, color temperature and brand. The SE bulb is also more tolerant to knocks and shock.

DE bulbs have a lower profile so the hood is much smaller than SE bulbs. It does not have a UV shield so a UV glass shield must be used together with the bulb.
