Default disinfecting filter media

Hi bros, just wondering, do you reuse your filter media from previous setups? If I were to reuse filter media (biohome plus) from previous setups, do I disinfect the media especially previously there were fishes dying due to diseases?

Thanks guys! Oh no... initially I wanted to pour boiling water and soak the media until water turns cold but scared the media might disintegrate under such high temperature, so I gaykiang go and add hydrogen peroxide and soak over night! Jialat, think now I should use hot water and wash it again. Hydrogen peroxide only effective for a few hours right??

I prefer cooking wif edge/condition water aka boiling, it'll root out the core...using medi, salt, viniger or tap water (chloramine) will seep and remain in the media for a long time till it's readily for colonization of bb's.
