whitespots?fishes dying?

i observed white spots on my fishes a week ago,..i tried the myrazin method..bt to no avail..
tis morning my tangs were all feedin well,evenin when i came back..they died!the white spots on my powder brown looked swollen too..
CHeap fishes survived... why???i nid help~

It could be these fishes are less prone/less vulnerable to whitespot. Tangs are known to easily catch whitespots and die from it. 1 way to help out with your situation is that since your fishes are still feeding, feed them garlic soaked food. It helps boost their immune system which would then help ward off whitespot.

i tried soakin e fishes' food with garlic .. bt they dont seem to improve.

Another way could be to check water parameters and see if anything can be improved on. It can go a long way by just fixing a water parameter that is a little bit off.

Its possible you didn't mix enough garlic juice with the food but i could be wrong. Did you mix the garlic juice with a little tank water before soaking the food in the mixture?

The PH level of my water is 8.2 ,
I din mix e garlic with tank water..wad i did was..i put e food in my net and dip e food in garlic juice for 8mins.Perhaps my net is with e contents
of e tank water?Do u tink my tank might b unclean,with germs..cos they seem to spread fr one fish to another.

Whitespots are known to spread and infected fish is a possible cause of the problem. Once you have an infected fish in the tank, most probably the other tank mates will suffer and fall ill. Quarantining newly purchased fish is a very good practise that prevents this problem but unfortunately alot of us don't practise this or just lack the necessary space or budget to setup a quarantine tank.

Do a search on the net, there should be plenty of articles related to combating whitespot as its a relatively common disease. Due to my lack of experience in dealing with this disease, i'm not really sure what medicine would be good to help tackle your problem.

If you dipped the food entirely into garlic juice, then it should be fine. I believe 8mins is sufficient soaking time unless your using very large food items which is unlikely.

Angels not eating may not be too surprising as i have read that angels may have feeding problems in captivity. Are they newly bought fish? Hikari has a type of frozen angel food you can try but problem is i'm not sure where it can be found locally(Someone from this forum managed to buy it locally before). You can try that or soak food in SeaChem Entice which is supposed to make picky fish eat.

i dunno whether cleaner shrimps really help in clearing white spots.. but since i have them in my tank, i never see whitespots on my fish...

Yup, keeping the fish in a seperate setup. This setup can be a low cost simple setup as it is just a temporary place for the fish to stay in. A 1-2week quarantine period should be sufficient to ensure that a fish is healthy before adding it into the maintank

This doesn't serve any purposes when it comes to quarantining as whatever disease the new arrival has can enter the system.
