What is this? A reactor of some sort?

Hi guys,

I've had this equipment sitting in my storeroom for a few years. Hadn't had a slightest clue what is it and it's function...



I've got it together with a same brand protein skimmer and a reservoir for the sludge... might be selling all as I've no idea how to use them since I'm not really into marine setup...

Please advise
