DiscuSoft

DiscuSoft is specially designed for the Discus enthusiasts in mind. The tester measures and indicates water softness in the aquarium with instant readout.

Water softness is an important parameter for tropical fishes especially cardinal tetras and the Discus in the cichlid family. Without the appropriate water softness, the Discus will not breed and spawn. Concentrations of below 200µS or about 3-15dH water hardness are required.

KoiMedic

KoiMedic is a salinity tester for measuring salt application in fresh water aquaria.

The maintenance of a balanced salt concentration in the Koi pond is essential for two reasons. Firstly, the control of the concentration of salt between the levels of 0.3% to 0.5% in the water helps to eliminate harmful parasites that affect the health of your fish. Secondly, if the salt concentration is too high in the water, osmotic pressure will cause water to go into the fish tissues. This will cause them to expand energy trying to get rid of excess water rather than to fight diseases. If the salt concentration is too low however, water will be extracted from their bodies causing them to be dehydrated.
