If you are talking about platinum. TheIr market value is around 1.5k to 4 k depending on the grade. I was chatting with this importer from USA. He said supplier generally will not sell hIm a plat or a snow unless he buy certain minImum order quality of normal arowana from them every year. So if someone offer u a cheap arowana .. most likely it's not a plat or snow coz they are rarity. You got to do reality check. In China.. their platinum or snow is generally from black arowana . You tell them snow silver and they will say they thought snow only associated with black arowana only. To them silver is associated with albino silver. Nowadays alot of white tank silver.. some of them can even exhibit snowy gill plates and the eye balls can even be Matt white. So make sure your arowana is in a dark color tank during display. If it is placed in white tank.. just put a small deposit .. ask the seller to put in black tank for a week and double confirm after 1 week before buying. To differentrate snow and platinum.. just take it out of the water .. the platnum scales will be shinning and the snow will be Matt white. If you cannot take the fish out of water.. just off the tank light and see via the daylight. For snow will be Matt white.. for platinum is shinning. Another sign To look for is the eyes.. the color separation of a snow eyes... black and Matt white contrast very distinct. Hope this helps. Last edited by fong; 26-04-2015 at 02:18 AM. |
