For a 1ft tank, I would go for PL or LED lighting. Bear in mind that both release great different in term of heat output. PL can be very hot and via versa for LED

i would recommend a PL or FL. the intensity given is higher compared to LED unless you're talking about the few hundred moolahs per unit for marine. although LED is more cost efficient in wattage but if you really calculate the difference per month AINT BIG at all for your tank size. furthermore, normal LED lamp you see in LFS has pretty short life span altho they claim they can last for ten over thousands of hours.

Suggest using MH and u will never have a light problem and never think of using other light again, go QH to see a 1 ft sample with t5 blue light by the side, good thing is next time u update just buy another set side by side, most of the MH come with steel cable hanging kit which also look nicer
