Anyone had experience keeping sun coral?

i had keep sun corel for a few times & never will them survive very long.
I did provide them feeding very frequently
Can anyone advise me how to keep them thriving?

The Sun Coral doesn't need much light but does need moderate waterflow and the best method of feeding them is target feeding or the lazy method placing them in the direction of the current flow.

What I did is to feed them with frozen mysis occassionally if I decided to give them a feast but 80% with dried phyto and Cyclop-Eeze.

Prior to feeding them, what I did is to use the "juice" from a de-frosted cube of mysiz and direct at them. Don't have to wait for too long before they open up and then that is when the mysis comes in.

Sun corals do not like light. Try to keep them away from light. They like water flow.


My previous sun corals

I usually whet their appetite by pouring the juice of mysis shrimps into my 2 feet tank. After a while they'll open up. Try to feed them everyday at the same time. After a while, they will know when to open.

You have to ensure that no other fishes, shrimps or snails steal the food on the mysis shrimp. They are slow eaters.

try using minced fresh market prawn to entice them to open... when they open then they wld feed and not get wasted away

Try to keep them at shady area but with high flow. I keep my for 6mth liao.
