Bad exposure?

ya, that is a common problem esp. when you shot with a single flash.

I did some adjustment to improve the contrast but you can see the shot is a little flat.

ohhh...roger that! if i hook up another flash also place from top? or will it be better to use it as a fill light from the side?

Having multiple flashes would mean you can reduce the flash power and allow even lite in larger area.

bro, wat do u use for adjustment? i only have some lousy sw that could adjust contrast, sharpness, colour, etc, etc...

in my opinion ... photo has nothing to do with software ... problem is with position of your flash ...

flash is positioned directly above the fish ... thus light bouncing off lateral side of fish is greatly reduced ... such effects are more prominent with fishes that has larger lateral surfaces but slim build ... example discus.

try repositioning your flash in a slighting angled manner thus hitting more light to lateral perspective of your fish.

u are right chris, i placed the flash vertically on the egg crate, hoping to blast the lights on the bugger. got a little too excited in "chasing" the fish.

will try to reposition the flash at the next shoot
